May 19, 2019, Kananaskis Valley, Peter Lougheed and Spray Lakes
On Sunday, May 19th, Fred and I decided to drive into the mountains for the day.
The past few weeks had made it difficult to hike due to high and at times, extreme avalanche conditions. Too, Nic arrived home from university and was transitioning from school to a full time Co-op job. We all seemed to get sick during this time period - Nic with the flu! and the rest of us with colds. And Nic's lacrosse season had started. All to say it had been over a month since we had made our way West.
Originally, we thought we would try a hike but opted instead to drive through Kananaskis, including the Smith Dorien down to Canmore, to explore with the area with short walks and the camera and scope out conditions. Both of us wanted to get to Nic's lacrosse game later that afternoon.
